Hi there fellow xd owners. Just bought a 2011 Scion XD RS 3.0 number 396. Hoping to learn alot from this forumn and make friends.

Yeah, I was about to forget this and go back to my integra forumn... j/k.. I've had it for 2 days and I love the xd compared to my previous integra gsr. It may not be as fast but the room inside and the gas mileage are better. Plus I've never see any in my town, so I'm probably the only one with a xd in town. It's good to be different than everybody else driving around.

I dnt have trouble going up against another vtec .. going from a dig we do great from our torque once you start from 3rd then that's when they go.

So your saying we can face a vtec as long as we are rolling at 3rd to start?

no. from a dig. were good cause we gots torque ... but if you do a 40 roll.. then yea their vtec usually kicks in and have a greater redline and we kinda lack power at top end so yea..

I'm not so sure about that... My old gsr would take the dig even with and 06 corolla xrs and still take the high end til 4th gear. depends on which vtec model you are talking about. Gsr makes the same amount of torque to the xd.

I'm talking about b16. Nd h22 .. the rest of the b nd k series are stronger. But our cars aren't meant for racing in the first place so its all good.

Doesn't Toyota have something similiar to vtec called lift?.. I wish they put a 2zz in the xD, or atleast make another engine with vvtl-i, it would be a bada** sleeper...

haha sorry if are like bashing you. were just not vtec ppl lol but yes the vvtl-i is similar to the vtec but they were discontinued in 08 ii believe. only on lotus now. the 2zrfe had full of potential.. I push my car from time to time against other cars and ii still surprise myself. but theres no after market support. but any little horsepower gains on this little box and u'll notice it. how you like your k&n filter? is it a drop in filter? if you are willing to invest less than 30 bucks. you can take out the filter box keep the tubing and with an 3"5 filter from spectre or w/e you have yourself a home made short ram. not the best looking but you will notice a great difference from stock

yea vvtl-i workrs the same way i-vtec works.

our motor has dual vvt-i so we get timing profiles on intake an exhaust, not just on the intake side. hooray for good gas mileage.

vtec is cool, but running around screaming "i got v-tec!!!!!!" isnt lol.

toyota and nissan just add extra cylinders and speed snails from the factory for their "performance" cars, which is what i'd do
