thats a good question, im looking at the konig backbone wheel its a 16x7 40+ offset. our stock wheel size is a 16x6 with a 45mm offset i wonder if i will be fairly flush.

I know the Konig Backbones will fit. They will be slightly sunken though. Our stock wheel is 16x6 +38... I think.

The XXR wheel... I wish I could comment on them but I don't want to say anything that I'm not sure about... I know a few people on ScionLife that have ran 9-9.5 wide wheels, but depending on if you are dropped and whatnot they will rub. I believe they ran a smaller narrower tire to help, and still have a modify the wheelwell some... but don't quote me on that one.

the xxr's id say test fit before you try it. i know 18x8 with 35 offset sits fairly flush on mine, though even with tein s-techs the wheel gap was nasty. that being said the 16x7 with 40 offset will be sunken in. i run 17x7 40 offset so yea.

They should sit fairly flush...

can someone PLEASE confirm the offset of the OEM wheel?

in my research for aftermarket wheels i've been generally looking at offset range +35 up to +45. If the offset is a bit lower than +35 i figure i can always do a bit of fender rolling or max out camber.

those xxr's are like 23+ lbs, right? what tire size do you plan using? if you're worried about clearance, maybe you could stretch a 215/45 over that. 205 i think would not work...

from my research for decent tires if you're concerned about keeping the overall weight of the wheel/tire down, CONTI DW in 215/45 is 20 lbs, and also Falken Ziex 512. BFG g-force sport (on the lower end of performance) is 21 lbs, and so are some of the Toyo's in the 21 lbs and change range.

If you have to run 225/45, CONTI DW is still 20 lbs, and CONTI DWS is 21 lbs.

basically if the total weight is under 45 lbs you'd be lighter than OEM (if you care).

in my slammed opinion you should be fine on 17x9's
