So I have been thinking a lot lately about our whole "we dont have enough after market support" dilemma... and I was wondering If people on the forums are willing to help out the community...

The way I am seeing it is that there are a lot of us here who have designed/created our own "stuff" So why arent we offering our own designs/creations to the rest of the community?

I have used fiberglass before and was considering making some parts for us...
what does everyone think about joining in this venture to help each other out?
is anyone any good with sewing cloth etc. for interior parts, do we have any metal workers that can make strut bars or frame supports, how about people with access to pipe benders to make intakes/exhausts... people who can cut vinyl... etc. etc. etc...

It would be nice if we could turn our classified section into a hub of custom parts that we as a community create...

please post up your comments/opinions

Sounds great in theory but I possess ZERO talents...I always turn to the professionals for all my needs...

LOL, Tim I am sure there is something, that you did a DIY on... apply that knowledge into making it part for us...

as an example I am thinking of making Bumper Canards for the xD... once I get a design made it will be simply making copies of them...

I guess on another note would you be willing to purchase parts created by the community? and not brand name companies...

also I was thinking that maybe some people who are local to each other could work together to either make parts or finish them... i.e. I make a spoiler, someone else paints it... or someone can make a gauge pod and someone else can line it with felt or overlay it with carbon fiber...

now that's a cool idea. that's what marshall got going on with the new scions since the market for mods seemed to have dwindled.

as for parts it depends, i've usually done the jdm route but if it's nicer then the jdm stuff i don't see why i wouldn't.
