On my 2011, Canadian Xd, the TPMS warning light was on since day 1 because of my chromed 17 inch wheels (i kept the OEM wheels for my winter tires).

So i have re-route the 5volts (using a toggle switch) back to the combination meter...Bye bye the warning light, and by flicking the switch, i get the system running as new.

I don't take the credit for it but CTScott, on Yarisworld. it is exactly the same colors, same location, took me longer to find a toggle switch in my junk than the mod itself.

DIY - Bypassing Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS / TPMS)...post 115 and on.PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE THREAD...there's some error at the beginning.

My 08 xD started making a racket and had antifreeze on the serpentine belt. Antifreeze was also being sprayed off the belt onto the hood. The interwebs seem to be rife with these problems on Scions, with rumors of them even having a TSB. Alas mine went at 74k miles so I had mine done on my dime.

What i learned... There is a new water pump part with a different part number that is much beefier looking and with less plastic than the old one. My mechanic said the old design looked weak and obviously failed badly. The new pump looked like a hoss by comparison.

The other issue was several posts said that the engine needed to be pulled to change it; and I saw prices up in the $800-900 range mentioned in forums. My mechanic said he had to remove a motor mount and move the engine a bit to get to it but he laughed when I told him some pull the engine for this. He charged me under $400 for parts and labor.

The car is quiet as the day I bought it and should go easily 100k miles on that pump. I just wanted to post my findings so I might help others on here since these pumps seem to be a point of failure on an otherwise great car.

At RockAuto.com, "Wholesaler Closeout parts" means inventory purchased from competing stores, car manufacturers, etc. Maybe the competing store is going out of business or maybe they decided there is no longer a big market for those parts in their geographic region.

Prices for Wholesaler Closeout parts are usually at least 30% less than RockAuto's regular, low priced inventory. Closeout parts did not come directly from the part manufacturer and so are covered by a 30-day warranty rather than regular manufacturer warranties.

RockAuto regularly has new Wholesaler Closeout parts to offer but quantities are always limited. If you want to be one of the first to know when new Wholesaler Closeout parts are offered for your vehicle then look up your Year, Make, Model in the www.RockAuto.com catalog. Next to your vehicles engine size click on the ‘RSS’ box. On the next page choose your RSS reader or choose to receive emailed announcements.

Wholesaler Closeout parts can always also be found just by shopping the RockAuto.com catalog. Just look for parts labeled "Wholesaler Closeout" or parts with a "Choose:" box where you can choose between closeouts and regular inventory.

Please use the link below to see a current example of what you might see for a 2009 SCION XD 1.8L L4
My initial thoughts are to trace the route for the rear windshield fluid nozzle and mount the camera on the underside of the spoiler, not sure if that will really be feasible though.
So I'm looking for suggestions...
I was told that putting the double sidded 3m foamy tape behind the plate will silence that. Now how do i go about the rear view mirror? If i hold the mirror the sound is gone but i dont know if it is the mirror frame thats rattling or the frame against the glass thats causing the rattle...
Any assistance??

Not sure who all has seen this. It is all over Facebook.

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...dels-axed.html

So anyone hoping for possible mods from companies in the future can pretty much stop hoping unless companies start support the Corolla in the engine department.

Long rant section. You have been warned, these are just my feelings:
But I am glad they are done with the xB. I was disappointed when they came out with the xB2. Two reasons, They deviated from their limited run idea of only keeping a model a few years then coming out with something new and two they took away the boxiness.

That is why the Kia Soul has gotten alot of people because of it's different boxiness that it took from the original xB.

I love my Scions, xD and first gen xB, but I overall think that Scion is becoming blah... especially with the other options out there that have lots of stuff stock. When the xB first came out it had the industry standard options plus some extras like remote keyless which wasn't a standard feature until last couple of years and the designs were different than other cars.

But now. They IQ took too long to come out and is not interesting anymore. I rather have the Fiat 500. To me the FR-S isn't coming off as all they hyped it up to be. So it too is not really stirking me. They're are a few other cars I would buy for the same price and a couple more that are a little more I would rather own.

Scion really needs to step up and come out with something big to rejuvinate themselves or else it is going to fail.

Maybe it is the economy, maybe it is something else. Sad to see it happen especially to a good brand of vehicle. Hope fully something new will come and make it better.

I feel better now.
