well, just rememebr to go to shows in support of our culture and not to win trohies. Thats just the bonus...

1sweetxd 04-16-2012 12:29 PM

i totally agree! i didnt really expect to win anything. i just wanted to show the car off and check out some of the other rides. plus it was a show for the local high schools graduation so all the proceeds went to them. it was for a good cause and that was the main point

exactly. im showing my car this weekend at "cars for a cause". all proceeds go to cancer research. a trophy doesnt really amount to anything after that.

Resolve 04-19-2012 09:10 AM

Yeah trophies are nice especially since this was your first show. I know first hand the experiences of feeling wronged not so much the not getting a trophy part, but more so cars getting trophies in classes they shouldn't have been in and only put there becuase the JUDGES felt they should be in said class. But I for the most part don't care about trophies like I did when I first started. I like getting them but I am more at shows for support and to hang with friends even if I have seen the same cars 2 million times.

Also some of these cars stock that are more expensive are alot nicer than cars like ours fully done and the thing about judging is it is all subjective to what the judge likes and how they feel. Coming from being a judge at a few shows and even being called in to rejudge and be tie breaker judge at shows I have entered my car I know how hard it is to judge some cars. I don't know the quality of the cars at this show, but I have given higher numbers to relative stock cars over cars with multiple work done simply due to the cleanliness of the car and how well everything fits and flows. Sometimes it is not the amount of work it is the quality. And some times it only takes that 1 point to beat the guy next to you.

But good luck at future shows and glad you had fun.

never complain to the officials either about car placing.....that's a nail in the coffin. It took me a few shows before I got the presentation down.

jester4666 04-19-2012 05:24 PM

i, almost always, get 1st in my class when i show. it actually is surprising when i don't get anything.

Like the Chrome Blue look

firstkingofbeer 04-30-2012 01:40 PM

I wish that I could take a picture that will capture the true color of the wheels. They are a more vibrant blue in person. If you go to asylum this year you'll be able to see the true color

jester4666 04-30-2012 01:41 PM

had my s-techs put on this weekend.

@kingofbeers....sweet ride man. i really like the wheels on the white car. i usually am not a fan of white cars. it works well together. also, what suspension are you on and are those 17's or 18's? i really need to get my rear lowered down an inch or so.

@jester....looks good but do you have any full vehicle shots so we can really see how it sits? you'll love the S-Techs! i know i do. even though i wish my rear were a lil lower.

jester4666 04-30-2012 05:25 PM

i'll take full shots later. probably tomorrow. i'm still waiting to see how it sets when the springs settle.

Im on D2 Coilovers, the car would be lower but I need adjustable sway bar end links since they dont come with the D2s. As for wheels they are 18's. Ive got a set of Tanabe DF210s if that would help?

i knew it! coilovers that is. i need to get off these damn springs. lol. i have a set of TRDs that i originally put on. still have those. now im on S-Techs. i really like the drop on the front, but i wish the back end were a little lower. i guess i need to bite the bullet and get some coilovers. apparently thats what i'll need to do to get the look i really want.

but your ride looks sweet like it is. what tires are you running? i'm running 225/40 on my 18's. no issues on the back but they rub the inner fender liner on the front end. i was also thinking about going to 17's with a lip and smaller tires to get a lil more drop and clearance

firstkingofbeer 05-01-2012 08:14 AM

My tires are 215/40.

so back last year some time, i went through a big ole paypal claim where i had sold my perfectly working coilvoers from my xd, and the buyer claims they were busted upon arrival, etc. anyway in the end after a mess getting a lawyer etc i end up with the money AND the broken set of coilovers.

so i gave the coilovers to an xd'er in baton rouge an hour from here, and told her all shed need to do is rebuild them. that was, oh, 7 months ago or so.

fast forward to this weekend. they got the coils fully rebuilt and she went all out. anyway, here is the result:
