A custom forged bottom end on your car would probably be $2000 to $3000 before labor and after market camshafts.

xd_kidd 05-18-2011 12:58 PM

haha it does cost to play ii guess. I can swap motors for under 3k with labor and parts.. we'll see what ii come up with...

Hey guys...don't forget about our livery contest. You've got 2 more weeks left before the judging starts.

robbiej 05-19-2011 07:25 PM

hmmmm, guess I need to break out the crayons, or figure out how to do it in mspaint.

LSD & Final Gear

2 Attachment(s)
We recently tested successfully a new KAAX LSD and final gear. Info on the gear specs will be posted on our team site: rallyxd.com This is a true closed diff regardless of traction. The pair of upgrades really helped our new Greddy turbo at the last race event in Oregon.

any word on which lsd application is compatable and does it work for an automatic?

robbiej 05-21-2011 05:36 AM

Why didn't they have the big wing on at OTR? I knew something was missing when I saw it at the Slate.

Rally xD 05-22-2011 02:46 PM

The custom spoiler was "contested" and ends up being illegal due to specifics in the rule book. Funny how someone would be worried about our spoiler when we're clearly still underpowered. We're making some changes to it so it can be ran on the stages legally.

XDev - good question about the LSD on Autos. let me ask Kaaz and let you know.

xd_kidd 05-22-2011 05:25 PM

what manual transmission are we running? or are you using a different transmission and retrofitted to the engine .. me thinks you are lol .. running a e153 trans..do ii get a cookie now? even if im wrong (which ii prolly am or not) ii jst had some chocolate chip cookies :)

simmons0613 05-22-2011 05:49 PM

Your going to share, right? *hold out hand* :licklips:

XDevolution 05-22-2011 06:04 PM

thanks rally, i still would like to see more pics of the turbo and any other parts you guys have installed (down pipe, turbo manifold, turbo itself). i read somewhere u have a Greddy catback or is it just the spectrum elite axleback. im really looking forward to a turbo kit for the D. definitly would open the golden doors for more aftermarket support.

Kaaz got back to me. unfortunately, the LSD will NOT work with A/T.

beat -__- it wouldve been nice. what about the turbo kit? manual only?

xd_kidd 05-23-2011 11:50 PM

so did i discover your secret and running an e153 trans? :fish_h4h:

Turbo Kit

I can't answer that right now. Since the kit we have right now is still custom...i would have to say that it's specific to the manual. I'll check with greddy and let you know. I think it's safe to assume that if a kit came out for this, it would be applicable to both a/t and m/t.

Whack-A-Mole 05-25-2011 04:14 AM

You guys did great! When's the next race? Also any info on that clutch from ACT? Maybe they could find us a lightened flywheel while they're at it! Our flywheel Toyota part number is 13405-37050. Thanks again for racing with the D!

xd_kidd 05-25-2011 09:21 AM

is any1 listening to what I'm sayn about my trans theory? Lol

simmons0613 05-25-2011 03:57 PM

lol I dont think they care.

xd_kidd 05-25-2011 07:44 PM

Cause I'm right lol.. lsd.. flywheel.. and clutch upgrade is not compatible to our cars otherwise it be in the market. Now the e153 trans bolts on to many of toyotas cars even the new motors.. and that trans have aftermarket parts. So I'm sure that trans bolts to our engine..

simmons0613 05-25-2011 07:57 PM

good point, now if only we had the money to blow on one

Whack-A-Mole 05-25-2011 08:52 PM

Thought we had the c50 trans same as the yaris. Now the flywheel part number is the same as the late model corolla and matrix. Check it
http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/t...405-37050.html

xd_kidd 05-25-2011 09:06 PM

Well ii think we do.. but I'm askin him if he swapped trans cause he said he used an lsd that's designed for t for e153 engine for toyotas in which I'm assuming he's using that trans... and the last time ii checked... the e153 isn't expensive but some very with milage... if you dnt mind 100k then 500-100 bucks?

XDevolution 05-25-2011 09:13 PM

well rally did say he found a compatable lsd and clutch. im pretty sure if they wouldve tranny swapped it wouldve been one of the first things posted on the rallyxd site. Just like certain suspension parts from the yaris are compatable with ours its almost certain there are other toyotas with compatible parts (ex. 2009 rav4 uses same front brake system as the XD) there for rotors and pads are interchangable. its all a matter of lookin for the application list of certain parts and most aftermarket sites dont offer that option (just to make more money off a multi application part)

xd_kidd 05-25-2011 11:41 PM

ok ii made another discovery... the mr2 spyders carry c50 trans if im not mistaking.. ii guess that checks out but ii think e153 is a possibility... ima just gonna motor swap lol

Rally xD 05-26-2011 01:03 AM

Definitely no tranny swaps for us. The xD does share a same tranny code as the spyder and "some" parts are compatible after careful measurement. The same KAAZ LSD is compatible with some other toyotas.

XDevolution 05-26-2011 06:58 AM

ah ha!! quik question. Is the XD one-wheel-peel? or is the stock differential more biased to one side?

Rally xD 05-26-2011 09:28 PM

Sorry. Not quite sure what your asking. Will do my best to answer. We were not able to determine if the stock diff favors one side over the other. It was clearly a necessity to get one. We used a gear based Quaife lsd first then changed to the clutch based Kaaz lsd.

xd_kidd 05-26-2011 10:36 PM

ok rally can you please let us kno what flywheel your using. would like to make some more power on my box too. thanks btw are we running the c50? the more ii reseach im at it the more ii question it.. c50 engines mostly went on the 90's toyota cars if im not mistakn.

XDevolution 05-27-2011 12:41 AM

essientially i was asking the same question twice lol but the quaife lsd would you have any knowledge if that would work on an automatic? this is an upgrade im very interested in. the quaife site doesnt have much info on there product.

Whack-A-Mole 05-27-2011 02:28 AM

Here ya go Kidd
http://www.villagescionparts.com/pro...036424006.html

Rally xD 05-27-2011 11:50 AM

My inquiries to the engineers say that yes we are running the C50. Whats crazy is that the C50 code is shared amongst not only our xD, but also the corolla (AE92), MR2 Turbo, Celica MR2 Spyder, and toyota/lexus E350. So what we learned was that the "c50" code was clearly not enough info to find out compatibility. The Quaife unit we used and is compatible is the celica mr2 spyder unit.

i'll email quaife and let you know if it works on the A/T.

ACT is still getting back to me on specs on the clutch units.

xd_kidd 05-27-2011 01:03 PM

Good find whack a mole. Useful info. And thanks rally. Glad to kno our trans is not so different afterall. So can you say that we can use the same flywheel from a mr2 spyder?

Sorry xd_kidd. info on the clutch is "SUPER" slow. ACT isn't getting back to us. I'll ask our techs instead but no promises.

xd_kidd 06-02-2011 08:42 PM

Its all good. Thanks tho
