Rally xD 06-07-2011 11:15 AM

ACT got back to me. They're sending info on it this week.

Also vote for your favorite race livery competition on our site. Winner gets a new GoPro HD Camera. http://www.rallyxd.com/rallyxd/2011/...inning-livery/

XDevolution 06-07-2011 09:47 PM

any word on the quafe lsd for automatics? and how bout the turbo kit? and in ur turbo kit Rally do u guys have a blow-off valve or a recirculating valve?

Whack-A-Mole 06-08-2011 03:41 AM

What's your next move Rally XD?

Rally xD 06-08-2011 11:17 AM

I asked the main distributor of Quaife here in the states about automatics and unfortunately they have no idea. Getting specs on our turbo kit for you.

Rally xD 06-13-2011 10:47 PM

ACT sent our engineers the info and specs. We'll be posting up the info on the team site as soon we get the info.

ACT Clutch for Scion xD

1 Attachment(s)
ACT Clutch info for our xD, finally. The entire press release is on the team site now: www.rallyxd.com

Sorry for the delay, they were real slow on getting back to us.

simmons0613 06-14-2011 11:12 AM

so is that how much it would be if we wanted to run the same set up?

Resolve 06-15-2011 08:55 AM

Awesome so these are the clutches that will fit the xD

Rally xD 06-15-2011 08:56 PM

Yes those are the ones that ACT have that will work. The costs...i believe are MSRP but you should check with your local dealer/shop just in case.

xd_kidd 06-20-2011 09:37 PM

does the clutch upgrade improve for us with light mods? always thought it was to handle cars with more torque.

xd_kidd 06-22-2011 08:20 AM

Btw did ever gotten a weight comparison from the oem hood/hatch with the c.f ones?

---------- Post added at 09:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:49 AM ----------

Another question the metal cover under your car did you ever felt a difference before and after you had that installed? Aerodynamic wise?

Another question (srry for the harassment lol) which lsd worked for you the best? Nd what's the part numbers? Lol

JDMJim 06-22-2011 11:27 AM

wants a hatch wing

- We never really measured the difference. the reality, the savings was small but give that we really needed all the help we could get, we had to do it.
- the metal cover/skid plate under the car really weighed us down but is critical to rally racing. we could've gone a lot faster but probably wouldn't have been able to finish.
- the KAAZ LSD worked best for us. Its a "true" lsd and gave the driver better feel and response. Let me get the part number for you.

xd_kidd 06-23-2011 11:12 AM

Ok thanks! Ii was thinking of jst swaping motors but you guys motivate me to give it all with the limited parts we have .. I'm hoping soon to go weight reduction nd a few more performance mods. Thanks!

NEFR: Maine

Looks like we'll be heading out to Maine for the last race of the Rally America series. Anyone out in that area by chance?

JDMJim 06-28-2011 12:37 PM

I'm on the way i suppose

Rally xD 07-07-2011 12:06 PM

New rebuilt engine with upgraded rods and pistons and a new set of GReddy turbo internals. New dyno session this weekend.

Whack-A-Mole 07-08-2011 05:12 PM

Cool, what do you mean rods?

Connecting rods between the piston and crankshaft.

xd_kidd 07-09-2011 12:20 AM

it will rumble on idle :)

Kinda figured, but wasn't sure. I know it wasn't push rods!

robbiej 07-18-2011 08:59 PM

Congrats to the team on their 2nd place finish in Maine this past weekend. From watching some of the videos, the course looked rough.

XDevolution 07-21-2011 10:07 AM

i see on your blog you guys use 5w-30 synthetic motul oil. is there any benefit using that grade as oppose to the recomended graded? can i use it on a stock motor or should i just stick to 5w-20 synthetic?

Rally xD 07-25-2011 09:38 AM

The fluids that we are using right now is what our engineers with motul recommend now that we are running a turbo system on the xD. If your engine is still relatively stock, using the recommended is always a safe bet. A key factor is always your environment, depending on where you live and the weather conditions can also influence what you should use.

Whack-A-Mole 07-25-2011 08:03 PM

Are you guys going to do the rally thing next year?

Rally xD 07-26-2011 06:33 PM

The Rally America season is done for now but we are considering doing some Canadian events. As for next year, we are looking to do a combination of Rally American and Rally Cross events. What do you think?

Whack-A-Mole 07-27-2011 02:12 AM

I think that's a tall cup of awesome sauce! How was your new setup doing for you? New pistons probably more boost!?

Rally xD 07-28-2011 07:22 PM

The new set-up allowed us to increase the horsepower to 200 to the wheels. We were not able to push it as much as we wanted to so we believe that there is a lot more potential for us to increase power. We kept the boost still relatively conservative..i think we were at 7-8 lbs of boost.

Whack-A-Mole 07-29-2011 04:26 AM

Awesome news! So the weak link was the hollow pistons?

Rally xD 08-01-2011 12:56 AM

Weak Link

We experienced a small leak in our down pipe. The heat leaking out really didn't help since our ecu and clutch cables were melted together. We're happy we even crossed the finish line.

Whack-A-Mole 08-07-2011 01:24 AM

Just read your article in Dsport, and it was awesome as well as insightful. So you guys were running 6.5 psi with TC injectors and bosch fuel pump on 91 octane making 165.1hp and 183.4 torque. Man that car is a torque monster! Also saw your dyno chart and saw the noticeable bump of power from the dual VVT-I was a little more subtle. Keep up the great works guys.

Rally xD 08-08-2011 11:07 AM

We're pushing 200hp now but we haven't really "fine tuned" the engine yet but the power definitely helped us in New England.

Rally xD 08-11-2011 10:37 AM

Turbo for your xD

Just curious....how many serious buyers would want a turbo set-up for their xD? If there are more than 5...i think GReddy is considering making an off the shelf set-up. Please reply. Of course price is always a factor but like any other turbo upgrade, the costs will be similar. is there an ideal price range?

Whack-A-Mole 08-11-2011 04:46 PM

That would be really cool. I guess the price would depend on the power output. I'm guessing their 6.5psi setup would be around 4k? Also, this timing stings a little. Just spent 1k for exhaust that will not work for turbo setups.

simmons0613 08-11-2011 05:16 PM

I'm in. But of course it will take me a lil while to save up the coin.

YELOSUB 08-13-2011 01:32 AM

Is say keep it around 3k...Turbo set ups for the tC and the xB2 can be purchased for right around that price...It would have to plug and play...

XDevolution 08-13-2011 11:48 AM

when the turbo kit came out for the rally xd originally you guys were running 4 psi. that allowed for use of stock internals without worry about damage. for that ide take a 5 psi kit and im saying for everything 3k sounds good. no more than 4k. and what would the kit include?

xd king 08-14-2011 09:47 AM

im down , gotta start savin those pennies

Rally xD 08-15-2011 09:18 PM

Thanks for the feedback. Will be meeting with them in the coming weeks to discuss this. If there is any additional interest or buyers, please let me know.

Resolve 08-16-2011 07:08 AM

interested yes. Can I throwdown money for a promise to buy/groupbuy unfortunately not. It would probably be a year or two.

If it works with stock internals or has every needed and plug and play pretuned stand alone or something I would say $4k tops unless coming with major internals then a little more obviously.

If it needs to be tuned at all I would say stay around $3k mark.
