I like the xd is running f/i .. but would be happy if they had cams and pistons.. any way that you can find information if theirs any other engine compatible with ours. I think we still are pretty much like the 1zz

I'm going to put in for Thursday off and head down to check out the cars. Wife is leaning towards staying home because its suppose to be cool and rain, like it has almost every day the last month or so, lol. Being a stem cell transplant patient, she doesn't want to take the chance of getting a cold or anything, immune system is still rebuilding.

I do not know of any company currently producing any after market pistons or rods for the 1.8L but any large company could make you a custom one off set. Their of course would be a cost increase but it is really not that much, guys with custom bore and stroke engines do it all the time.

xd_kidd 05-09-2011 01:35 PM

Yea im pretty sure they can. But wonder by how much is the question. I decided to keep the car and finish modifying it. mite as well finish lol.

i hope its that one lol, its the only scion/toyota lsd there. i just did the currency exchange rate conversion, thats gonna cost $955 not to mention shipping and handling. and would it work for automatics?

Rally xD 05-10-2011 06:51 PM

We did use a quaife originally but now we are using one from KAAZ. OTR will be our first event with the KAAZ. Sorry, a lot of info on this is still hard to get as testing etc isn't all finished but the hardest part of it is finding compatibility.

Watching your blog, I saw your tool kit you carry with you. In your blog you mention an impact gun, and I was wanting to know what kind it was.

Rally xD 05-11-2011 02:08 PM

Snap-On impact gun in the car. Probably not necessary and we could run another brand thats more cost effective. This gun isn't used that often.

Whack-A-Mole 05-11-2011 03:35 PM

Reason I ask is I bought a Hitachi WR18DL. It won't knock off the lugs on my car, but I still have use for. I also bought a nameless brand from Walmart for $30 which will only knock off my wheel lugs if the car is running (it runs off the cigarette lighter). I've heard the Snap on cordless impact wrench is held with well regard.

Rally xD 05-11-2011 05:00 PM

honestly....no one will every say anything bad about Snap-on.

robbiej 05-14-2011 09:51 PM

There are some videos up on rally-america.com from the OTR. The xD is in a couple of them and some cool in car videos. http://www.rally-america.com/

Congrats on the 7th place overall and 1st in 2wd class at the Oregon Trail Rally. Wish I could've been there. Listened in on OTR internet radio and caught some of the interviews with ACP at the end of some of the stages, sounds like they were having fun battling with the Mazda Speed3. Way to hammer it home guys.

that would be very nice as well. definitly would give more support for the turbo kit. i still actually would like to see a supercharger, but, the turbo kit is still better than nothing.

couldnt you just have some custom pistons made for you? That would be nice to say that you have 1 off pistons.

xd_kidd 05-17-2011 12:28 PM

i can but im estimating ii would pay an additional 50% from what aftermarket pistons and camshafts would cost *shrugs*

simmons0613 05-17-2011 12:29 PM

ya thats understandable. I guess all we can do it just wait and pray someone hears out plea.
