I never understood the rusted look.... maybe cause I battle rust on a daily basis with my 240SX... maybe cause it is stupid, I dont know... my question is this, what are they going to do when the rust creates holes in the hood, and they have to drill off and replace the hinges cause the hood has rusted to it? rust is cancer for cars, why would anyone want to promote cancer in their body?

i think thats alil overthinking outside the box there dude. I doubt theres anyone out there promoting that. though im not 100% sure as to why it became a trend. but im sure they have the original hood in good condition aswell with the rusted hood for cosmetic purposes. if they only have the rusted hood then yea i find it abit retarded. im sure the hinges would have coating to prevent rust and aswell as the inside of the hood.

altezzas are overrated nd ricey. they only good if they came manufactured lol

all people i know with rusted hoods dont have a second hood, and dont have some special treatment on the hinges or underside...

Trust me, the rot holes in the frame of my 240 make me want to kill people with this look... and if you had this issue you would feel the same way...

the whole hood ride thing is wierd but cool in its own sense.. its different and unique...i for one prefer to keep rust off my car... : )

bike racks and bikes( or other crap) is a huge fad that came outta cali. purposely rusted cars, outragous exhaust. the only couple Scion specific fads are the racks and old BBS rims. some of the haters try to tell me my xB is part of that Japanese fad of VIP tuning. I don't see how anything IN Japan is a fad other than what they are taking form us. like bulding their cars to look like Donks and old hondas with unpainted bumpers and rota's. But american tuning is about status quo. so "altezza's", stickers, unpainted busted bodykits, tack on busted blatty mufflers, blue lights, neons/Led underglow XXR/rota/any knockoff jdm looking wheels with fake centercaps. all status quo.

as far as old school bbs. are comin from the vdubs lol. and I dont mind haters. not trying to be cocky. but people who "hate" on my car. would most likely enjoy owning it if they could

The Rusted Hood started out as a VW trend then spread outward. It's a taste thing some like some dont. I don't really like it on all cars but some VWs it looks good. THere is a VW local to me that has the rusted hood and the lips of his wheels are rusted instead of the polished. looks good to me.

I think cars off the first fast in the furious are not ricey even with the spoiler. see them as an original before every "smart" person decided to put it to anything they drive.

yeah, i can't believe the number of guys with tC's that were painting the stickies andthinkin it's cool. it's still stock! on the other hand, the stripe idea is nice. or how about the whole inside. two tone them. the time attack red stripe is another fad. bled over to the VIP scene, bbuuutttt, red chrome stripe?
