update:
Finally finished painting all the interior pieces in flat black. Turned out really nice and goes well with the new headliner.
Still working on black visor hardware and get visors covered in headliner material.

Good eye, Luci but they were just from dirt. :hands:

I used Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric. I find it to hold up to abuse better than Fusion.

Did you wet sand your trim pieces first before priming, painting and clear coating?

rhino74s 11-25-2009 01:32 PM

The only prep work I did was wipe down the pieces with rubbing alcohol, to clean any grease or chemicals on it. I also let the pieces dry for a full day before handling them but they were dry to the touch within an hour.
I wanted to keep the stock texture of the pieces, that's why I didn't sand.
The pieces soaked up the paint really well and are holding up perfectly, no chips, marks or anything so far.

Any way you can post up a pic of the can you used? or a part number or a link?

rhino74s 11-26-2009 05:24 AM

yep, here you go.... http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinyl.html
I used flat black, you can get it at pretty much any auto parts store, works great. I finally got around to dying the sun visors with this stuff too. Works great and is perfect for dying our visors, you would never know they didn't come that color.
