summer gas mileage
anyone else see little increase in mileage since the weather warmed up? I sitting about 30mpg combined....seems low to me this year....
I actually see a little decrease (but that is probably due to the new wheels). I was averaging 36-37mpg and now I am down to 33.
(my numbers are high. Probably because I do almost exclusivley interstate driving and Indiana is FLAT) |
mine is city. highway only is about 38....
I am at 29.2 mpg combined, according to fulley.com. This is based on 5 fill-ups over the past five or six weeks. We are getting about 28 mpg with 100% city driving and using a/c.
thats' the key right there. I haven't used AC at all this summer
I try to drive windows down when I'm in the city. Because of the extra load from the A/C my engine exhaust actually goes up in volume quite a bit. :boxed:
I run with my windows down most of the time. I average 28 - 31 in mixed driving.
I am at 10 fill-ups now, and maintaining 28 mpg's 100% city driving with 50% A/C use. I don't use a/c on the morning commute, but I use it on the way home. My combined average is 29.4 mpg according to fuelly.com (a great tool, by the way).

60% highway (75mph), 40% city. A/C on 100% of the time this time of year. Solid 34.5-35mpg avg.
