I've seen threads online with peeps going with the double sided 3M, but I'm thinkin some actual adhesive should do the trick... any input?

you definately, without a doubt, want to use the 3m double sided tape, if you use the adhesive you will need to scrape it off the car and repaint the area if you ever want to replace the emblem... not to mention that most adhesives will eventually eat away at the paint anyway...

Actually 3M Weatherstrip adhesive is made specifically for that purpose. And there is a solvent for it that softens it for easy removal and clean up. Any major auto parts store should have it. Comes in black or yellow.
