Any additional chassis stiffness is your friend IMO, especially with lowered vehicles.

I had Hotchkiss front and rear sway bars and a front strut tower brace on my lowered xB and it rode and handled much better than stock.

As soon as I can scrape up the funds I plan to do the full works on my xD. Springs, shocks, strut tower brace, sway bars and sub frame braces.

The stiffer the chassis the more the energy of motion is controlled by the suspension instead of arbitrarily absorbed by the rest of the car.
