Default Just Sea Foamed my intake... great results!
I just used a can of Sea Foam Spray in my xD's intake. I used it exactly per the instructions. Basically, insert the tube into the intake boot (between the MAF and the throttle), run the RPMs up to about 2,000, and spray the Sea Foam in. You can't spray constantly, because it will stall the engine. You pulse it in. White smoke will come from the exhaust. This is normal. When the can is gone, you shut off the engine for 5 minutes. During this time, you tighten the intake boot back into place. After that, start up the engine and give it a few revs. HUGE clouds of white smoke will come out. This is also normal. Then take it for a drive and really wind it up.

The reason I did this was that my xD had a bit of hesitation in low RPMs... especially in 1st and 2nd gear. I also felt like there was some power missing. The Sea Foam did the trick. Hesitation is completely gone, and acceleration is back... and smooth all the way up to red line!

I had tried a bottle of Sea Foam in the gas tank for two tanks in a row. This did not help. However, using a little Sea Foam in the gas tank from time to time should help reduce gum and varnish buildup... so it can't be a bad thing.

I have used Sea Foam in small engines (2 and 4 stroke) to fog the engine before winter storage. It works great for this... and also will keep gasoline stabilized and dry over the winter. I don't know what they put in Sea Foam, but whatever it is, it works.

If anyone wants to try it... just make sure you are in a WELL ventilated area. Preferably with the car facing into the wind. Here are some pics of the car right after restarting the engine:

The "tweet" sound in the video is a bird... not my engine.
