On the shark fin antenna website, in the Scion gallery is this gorgeous RS1 with painted to match antenna. I think I'll have to do it. 20081112-xD_RD2[1].jpg

if you do be absolutely sure you are dead on where you want it cause the tape is super sticky, mine is just a tad crooked cause i accidently touched the top to the roof and couldnt get it back up. lol
Hey Troy, I know you will eventually find this post. It looks like you added a shark fin antenna and kept the folding antenna on as well. Is this true, and if so, do you have seperate systems? I just can't figure it out!!
haha, found it already!... No, I replaced the stubby am/fm antenna with the shark fin... the second antenna you see there is a very small mag-mount two-way Ham Radio antenna, I have an Icom dual-band 2-meter/70cm Ham radio transciever mounted in the car... you can see the head unit with the yellow display mounted just below the clock:
...and no, it ain't no CB... Breaker Breaker 1-9!
My FCC Amateur Radio callsign is N3LTP. Lol, I tell everyone the LTP stands for "Loves To Party!"
Kingofbeer, I did the same thing, I got my shark fin on a bit crooked... You can buy a replacement pre-formed 3M tape gasket for just $8 from VisualGarage, I had emailed them about it... just cut the fin off the car with a piece of string, scrape the old tape off and stick on the new gasket tape, and re-install - a bit more carefully!... I just never got around to buying a new gasket, so mine's still crooked. No one notices unless I point it out, though, so I just keep my mouth shut, haha...
If you live out in the country and/or your radio stations are more than 10-15 miles away, you WILL notice a difference in the performance - the Shark Fin's tiny little fractal antenna is not nearly as good at reception of distant radio stations as even the stock antenna... a lot more picket-fencing (signal fluttering in and out very quickly)... but it looks great, so it's a fair trade-off in my opinion!
I ordered mine from visualgarage about a week ago in hotlava...I can't wait to get it...I'm assuming they are pretty easy and straight forward to install...Also, how long was the average wait time for you all?
Hmm, I don't quite remember how long it took, but it wasn't very long, maybe 10 days??... I think it took them about two days to paint the order and let it dry before shipping... I would expect you will get yours within the next few days, Yelo...

Yeah, wait wasn't bad considering it's a part they hafta paint first.
Install is easy.... unscrew the antenna shaft (hehe), screw on the coiled wire that's on the inside of the fin. Clean roof around the antenna.
Hard part is lining up the antenna before you set it down, the tape is strong and you'll only get one chance, so be careful.
Im looking to add a Cb antenna on the back any ideas? or will this firestik mount work? couldnt tell from the pix... sorry Im new to all of this... so please feel free to teach me LOL

Most likely a CB antenna will have to be side mounted... Height wise the CB antenna would be redonculous on the roof of the xD. But please post pics if you get it set up I am intrigued to see how you mount it.
well, here's about the best shot I can find of my xD that shows the small 12" Ham Radio antenna I mounted behind my sharkfin... it's just a mag-mount on the roof with the cable running through the hatch... I agree with Ted, though - a large CB antenna on the roof would probably make the xD look like an Radio-Controlled dune buggy...
