Default modding headlights
Is there any way to remove the orange piece from the headlights?

There sure is, you need to bake them open then remove the piece. Also the JDM version IST comes with clear colored markers...

yea I baked mine open to paint the insides black. I used 275 degrees for about 2 to 3 minutes on each headlight, worked no issues

Time for someone to start selling the clear lens so we can just swap them out. I want to paint/remove my orange lens but would rather have clear replacements instead of painting or completely removing it.

I'm sure soon there be options on ebay for headlights for our cars. There is also someone making projectors for any car. It took 2 years after I got my 05 focus before I got projectors for it. Of course I don't have that car anymore, I traded it for my XD.

That skicotics post is grossly off on the time to bake it for... 10 minutes will leave you will a melted housing... you dont want to leave it in there for any more than 2 to 3 minutes, and even with that you want to check it continuously to make sure your not melting it....

really? how you figure? ive actually done probably 10 sets of headlights at the same temp and the same time in the oven with absolutely no issues and definately no melted housings. the temp is just hot enough to loosen them but not hot enough to melt them unless you put them directly on the rack, then you might melt them but thats totally your fault. lol

FYI, this is the japan headlights so no baking involved and still have stock headlights just in case.
