What changes would you like to see made to the xD?

The car is approaching the five year mark so a refresh should be coming down the pipe in a year or so. What changes would you like to see done to the xD so it can keep up with the competition? These so changes have to be reasonable and will keep the xD in the same price range it is currently in...so no 250HP turbo charged ideas.

3. For me I would love to see the xD lighten up a bit by either making it a coupe or use a third hidden door like the RX8 and Velostar uses.

2. Increased power output, nothing crazy but add DI or some tuning tricks to give the car say an extra ten extra HP.

1. The most important upgrade IMO has to be the six speed auto/manual. Almost all of the xD's competition has a six speed transmission.

1. for me i would def like to see a 3-door xd.
2. ive been thinking since i bought the car why did toyota go with a 1.8 instead of a 2.0. seeing a displacement upgrade would be nice.
3. obviously uping the power would be great. ide take an XD from factory with like 140 HP (flywheel) and 135 lbs-torque.
4. even a 5-speed auto would be great. +/- style shifting

Since everything is electronic anyway... Why not a "sport" button like on a lot of the European cars. Change the engine mapping a bit, make the electronic throttle actually do what you tell it, etc... That way you could have some fun when you wanted and still be able to achieve the economy that your wallet likes the rest of the time.

I would like it lighter, LSD, more power, direct injection, taller gearing (no more 70mph@3k rpm) 140-150hp would be nice. Or even a Prius C version with a plug in option.

Here are my thoughts copied from scikotics forum:

Overall I am satisfied with the xD maybe some slights changes. But my major request would be.

Engine with a little more power. Since a few cars in our price range come with around 150hp stock even the 2012 Civic LX comes in around 140 hp stock.

Maybe redesign the engine bay a little and have engine options. Like stock engine around 140hp or a turbo 4 cylinder putting out like 200hp. Most car manufacturers are start to give these types of options. a stock N/A engine and a boosted verions. Stock engine running around $17k and Boosted versions running around $24K. Maybe even a small 6 cylinder option. But I am sure the tC would get that option first.

The 6 speed tranny idea is cool. and Maybe a hybrid tranny (auto and manual).

and make it less detuned. Since the Corolla has the same engine but the tuning is different so it gets a few extra HP. I know it's not a lot but, people spend extra money for a few extra on exhaust and intakes why not get a few extra free from the factory.

Standard armrest would be nice and some interior under the dash lighting. Other than that, there isn't really anything I don't like about my xD. I do agree that AWD would be great, since they already have it on the European model it shouldn't be too much to ask?

one change i would make is to make the damn front cupholders under the radio actually fit drinks. the left one fits a 20 oz bottle till you take a corner hard and it flies out across the car, and the right one doesnt fit a 20 oz bottle at all! what type of shit is that. i dont remember having that issue in my 2008 model, but my 2010 model ive got that issue. anybody else or just me?

i have a 2008 and i have that problem.cups and bottles fit with no prob but the slightest turn and there flying all over the car lol

I dont even use them. I use the "hidden" one next to the passenger door.
