Thats understandable. i know the team choose to go with a much smaller turbo. We'll see. The team asked Greddy for 35-50 horsepower and they said "thats it!" The first stage of adapting the turbo without any further engine development is the goal right now. The extra power is needed to help the xD get out of the turns better.
yea ii wld love to see what potentials a 2zr-fe gots but its understandable. Im also guessing too much boost power could cause a bit less traction on the course.
Potentially, Greddy is saying 100-150 but then we'll have to start building the engine...clutch....etc. We're taking it slow and steady. We hit the dyno later today or tomorrow so we'll get some more numbers soon.
After our kit is finished, we're going to see what exactly it'll take to get a production kit for all of the xD fans/owners out there. More info to come.
Thanks, and best of luck! I've got money put back for a kit, but it's been a long wait. One question I have is if if I get a turbo kit how would that effect emissions testing? I live in a county that just checks for engine codes and gas cap seal.

The codes can be tuned out if any are thrown and the gas cap seal will not be an issue.
Their has been interest since the xD was released but people tend to back out once real world cost are understood. Any serious power would be require internal upgrades and beefing up of the transmission. It is possible to see an 6K-8Kprice tag when it is all said and done and once you reach that price point then other sports car become available that would be better options.
I'm familiar with all that, but I think 200 hp (total) would be safely realized with a good tune. I was wanting to know what Greddy was wanting to see. I like my car for what it is, but a little more pep would go a long way! Thank you Rally XD for keeping us up on the info, and keep up the good works!
First dyno session went without any problems. We obviously didn't push it and wanted to make sure everything was working correctly. We got 40+ horsepower, 45+ lbs of torque at 4 psi. We'll post the first dyno sheet shortly on the site. More dyno/tuning to coming.
So we had our first dyno session and so far so good. We still have our engine in place and everything is working. We haven't developed any of the engine's internals and are hoping to just get a little more power out of those slow dirt/snow/mud turns on the stages.
On this first session we were only at 4 psi. We got about 50+ horses and lbs of torque. I believe Greddy installed a restrictor to keep everything down as a precaution. Stayed tuned.
