Default Headers? Fuel Management? etc?
Does anyone know what we have available for aftermarket go fast goodies?

I need more pep in my step... like "Civic SI killer" status...
Which should be easy enough for us to accomplish, hitting 200whp should be doable on a stock motor...

so what does everyone have/seen for performance engine mods?

nuthin' but CAI's and an underdrive pulley, as far as I know... don't think there's a lot of demand for performance parts for the xD, as of yet...

Using tC injectors would only be useful if your running some type of fuel management system, like an safc II, emanage, stand alone, etc... this is only useful if you can properly tune the vehicle... but honestly, I dont see why you would want to run only slightly larger injectors when you could grab a set of SARD's up that are like 650cc or 750cc and just tune with them in.... especially if going turbo, running lean on a turbo system is just stupid, and with him blowing his motor, clearly he was not tuned properly and his A/F was off...

Could a header finally be in production for xD? If so, if so it would appear as if our little corner of the market will be getting some attention. I hope more products and xD exclusive pieces will become more and more available. Hoping and...

I wonder if pulling the engine is required to get one on. If no one here knows, call Toyota.

might not have to. but removing the front bumper. or anything else in the front (radiator) and maybe hood for easier access will most likely be neccessary

^^ our manifold is located on the back of the motor, so no need to remove front bumper etc. The only thing you will need to remove is the wiper cowl and the metal support under it, after that there is a ton of room to get back there and install it... or you could throw it on a lift and go from under the car... I would pick option 1...

Does anybody have an idea of what kind of horsepower gains can be expected after installing one of these headers, a CAI, and a performance exhaust? I'm guessing around 10-15 percent of stock output.

I read about a company that made an intake manifold and header for the xD to test it out, and were able to produce 148hp on a dyno with a CAI, Magnaflow exhaust, Header and intake manifold. So more like 20hp for a CAI, header and exhaust...

Equipped with the long-tube headers and 2.5-inch mid pipe (2.25 would work equally well) and no axle back, the motor produced 134 wheel hp and 134 ft-lb of torque.
At just 3000 rpm, the header and mid pipe offered an additional 15 ft-lb of torque.

Next we installed the prototype of the Xd intake manifold. The peak power numbers jumped to 148 hp and 137 ft-lb of torque.
At 6000 rpm, the intake offered gains of 16 hp.
It appears from this testing that if we add an NST u-pulley and receive the same results as we did on the 1.5L Yaris motor, the 1.8L can produce a real 150 wheel hp (possibly more if it reponds favorably to the FIC).
BTW-We already made 151 wheel hp with a version of the intake that won't be offered for sale-it adds a bit more peak power but sacrafices too much elsewhere)

^^there is the original text
