Default Gotta question about the hand brake
Hi everyone. My wife recently got a 2010 Xd with manual transmission. She thinks maybe the hand brake is a little loose, but the dealer says it is fine. Does anyone know how tight the hand brake should be? She says hers takes 8 "clicks" before it is tight.

Thanks!

What does she mean by loose? Is the handle loose or is the E-Brake not catching in the rear?

Thanks for the replies. The wife says that the brake is effective, it just seems to need an excessive amount of travel of the lever before the brake catches. Apparently much more than her previous car

If the brake is self-adjusting, then I guess it will grab wherever it wants to, right? She was thinking that the dealer was ignoring her request to tighten it, but maybe there is no way to do that.

You have to pull it up a bit for it to engage.
one or two clicks won't really do anything.
