Default Shark Fin Installed/PICS
Ok I installed the Shark Fin antenna from Visual Garage...The paint match is pretty much spot on...Install was pretty straight forward...Here are the pics...There not the best, it was dark by the time I was done...I will take more when it's light out...

Here it is unpacked and ready to go;

Underside where you screw it to the base antenna...Real simple:

The xD body style really looks good with a shark fin antenna on it, I think - I love the looks of mine, even though I still have to have a small wire antenna mounted behind it for my Ham Radio... there is a bit of a drop in radio reception with the fin, just be aware, but I can live with that...

Be careful... if you don't mount it perfectly straight, it'll make you drive in circles all the time!

Thanks...I don't have any radio reception problems...I guess thats because I live in the city and usually drive from city to city...No rural areas for me...

Looks good, way better then little unit that comes stock. I swear the oem antenna makes our cars look like little remote controlled toys.

Yeah... some of us actually like that look. I've been a fan ever since the GTI used a "remote control car" antenna like that.

BIG TNX!

I've had my xD for a year now and it's all stock so it's about time for me to upgrade it's apprearance lol.

I'm a real noob when it comes to cars so bear with me when I ask some really easy questions for everyone.
i.e. HOW do I remove the ugly stock antenna coz it's stuck there pretty darn good..pics would be awesome.

The stock antenna unscrews at the stick part of it, if you want to remove the base, then you have to take out the headliner inside the car to get to it, but to do the sharkfin mod you do not need to remove the base, you just need to unscrew the stick part...
