Default xD is going to be axed.
Not sure who all has seen this. It is all over Facebook.

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...dels-axed.html

So anyone hoping for possible mods from companies in the future can pretty much stop hoping unless companies start support the Corolla in the engine department.

Long rant section. You have been warned, these are just my feelings:

But I am glad they are done with the xB. I was disappointed when they came out with the xB2. Two reasons, They deviated from their limited run idea of only keeping a model a few years then coming out with something new and two they took away the boxiness.

That is why the Kia Soul has gotten alot of people because of it's different boxiness that it took from the original xB.

I love my Scions, xD and first gen xB, but I overall think that Scion is becoming blah... especially with the other options out there that have lots of stuff stock. When the xB first came out it had the industry standard options plus some extras like remote keyless which wasn't a standard feature until last couple of years and the designs were different than other cars.

But now. They IQ took too long to come out and is not interesting anymore. I rather have the Fiat 500. To me the FR-S isn't coming off as all they hyped it up to be. So it too is not really stirking me. They're are a few other cars I would buy for the same price and a couple more that are a little more I would rather own.

Scion really needs to step up and come out with something big to rejuvinate themselves or else it is going to fail.

Maybe it is the economy, maybe it is something else. Sad to see it happen especially to a good brand of vehicle. Hope fully something new will come and make it better.

I feel better now.

well, I'm optimistic about this. Rememeber that as cars get replaced, they get bigger....We just might see a bB hit out shores again as a Scion....it would be the right upgrade from such a small car....And it will be cheaper....should be anyway. But my wife( who is born and raised japanese) sat in the JDM iQ at Megaweb. She saw the price thru the window sticker and said there was no way she would spend that kinda money on that car....It's just too small...period. She said the xD/Ist was a much better value. But it really comes down to design. Toyota's bland style is catching up with them. They would do better with a Porte

This car already has better use than a iQ

even with the weak aftermarket and now this, it doesnt phase me at all about my car. my xD has come this far and this wont change it. it does make me think whats going to happen with scion though. this leaves just 3 cars in the production line, and only 2 of them will really go anywhere in sales. the iQ is just not worth its price. i saw one on the lot at 17k. i got my xD for less then that, for more room, power, and overall flexibility. somethings gotta happen of its going to just bust.

Never thought I would see the day the xB would go away. I really don't see what Scion is doing though. In the line up you have a touring coupe, a sports car, and a tiny little car that is somewhat useless for long hauls...what kind of product line is that?

To ThisorThat:

I love my xD so I am not getting rid of it but will be changing it but not because of this and was never really performance/ aftermarket oriented towards it anyway everything on mine I did myself and not pre made aftermarket. My air ride isn't even a kit I pieced it together before they made the kit.

Plus Scion started out as a 2 car line and then went to 3 shortly after. So the 3 car line isn't bad.

To CXTKRS1:

Scion was originally a brand that was marketed to the younger crowd Teens and Early 20s. Not people that normally make long hauls regularly. It just happens everyone liked them and wanted them. Maybe they are trying to go back to that thought and gain the younger crowd.

That product line could tailor to the crowd. The IQ could be for the young girl in High school or college. of course guys could get it to.

The tC a mid series sporty car for a teen young adult.

And the FR-S a sport car with enough power to make younger crowd happy but not enough power for them to be crazy maniacs and still be under $25K mark.

maybe. i guess the xB and xD were too sensible for teenagers to buy lol. i finally figured my car's direction with stance due to the weak performance market for us. wheels are universal and still have at least a few coilover/air setups available (custom like yours of course). i can believe this too with all the trd parts being discontinued as well as the aftermarket.

Since this be the case, pretty soon I may have a 2012 tC,xD, or xB. Looking for a RS model, all 3 RS for 2012 are pretty sweet.

But the FRS andtC2 are nearly the same price. the cheaper of the two seat more people and hauls more goods and has better power gains from aftermarket. The one that will be $20K after tax and title will be mainly bought by 65 and older and will not be a contender for taking the Smart's throne.

I really like the Porte that JDMJim posted above. First thing that came to mind was the 1988 Nissan Stanza Wagon I once owned. That was a great car for me, ugly to some, but very practical, functional and easy to drive in the city. I hope Toyota / Scion will bring the Porte here. Sliding doors are awesome on non-minivan vehicles.

Meh, you should save the price difference to get the FRS. The BRZ comes standard with HID but cost more.

Hate me but I think the FRS is being overrated and over hyped. At least for the Scion edition.
