Default More Rally xD in Action
Cool pic from one of our races from last year! You won't find any of our last years stuff on the team site. The team site will only have 2011 stuff.

I am really curious about the LSD. Did it have to be custom done or is there actually something for our trans?

The LSD was an off the shelf product from Quaife. Not your std clutch based LSD but gear based. Very good for us since we wanted max reliability and min wear and tear.

Thanks for your site! I really enjoyed reading up on it. Have you done many mods to the engine or do you keep it simple to stay in a specific class? Engine bay pic would be sweet. I saw where it said you were having fluid consumption problems. What insight do you have on this. Last, did you convert the rear to disk brakes or did you keep it drum?

Only "performance mods," Performance filter, headers, exhaust. So far we've kept the mods to a min to help avoid additional headaches. We are still learning a lot about rally racing and the major wear and tear the car has to go through. We are exploring making more power but reliability and serviceability is always our main goal and don't want to threaten that. I'll get more detailed photos on the site soon. Fluid problems... on one of the night stages, one of the cars had a major accident forcing all the cars to wait until it was cleared off a safe. Due to this wait, our car consumed more fuel then we anticipated and we ended up "running" our of fuel close to the stage finish and ended up having to get towed back in! That and a blown tire on stage really made it tough but we were able to battle back and make up a lot of time to still take 2nd in our 2wd class. We have not changed out the drums...but are considering changing that as well.

Thanks for the info man. I really love to watch rallies on tv. If Rally America comes through Cherokee Trails I would try to make it out to watch in person. What suspension besides the tein have you guys used, you know like rear sway bar ect.?

Default Rally xD suspension
Other than the front and rear Tein suspension, we used the TRD rear sway bar and made a front tower bar. Hopefully you can see it from this image.

It would be cool to see some of your runs from the onboard cameras, if you have them and could put together a video.

I really like my Nitto rear lower strut tower brace I got from Miroimage. It's made for the Yaris and fits our car. The problem for you guys though is probably ground clearance. I know if an animal ran out in front of me I could probably strattel it, but it would get a hellatious clothes line from the brace. I can feel a difference in turn in with it though!

There was a lot of coverage and we are compiling it all as we speak. We plan to post up a video of our event coverage in the next week or two. The video portion was late to start b/c the truck/trailer/team with the video equipment got stuck in the crazy winter storm in the mid-west as they were traveling back from Sno*Drift. I'll post up a link once the video is up. You'll be able to see it on the team site and youtube.

Are you going to make the next 2 Rally America events? Olympus and Oregon Trail, would like to try to make one or both of these events if you are going to be there.

How could we get one of those spiffy shirts or jackets. I can't believe you guys are doing so well with basically stock hp. One heck of a driver and support team!

The team will update on the site the next event it plans to attend. It's 50/50 on the Olympus Rally, it's 100% on the Oregon Trail. There is currently a "giveaway" on the site right now for some team shirts. Check it out at www.rallyxd.com

The top 3 captions will win so if you got a few, go ahead and send them but each entrant can only place once. So the more you have, the better your chances will be.
