My cousin is about to get his hands on a 2011 urban cruiser. He ordered it through his dealership. He has this thing fully loaded with the top of the line parts they can offer. Its expected to get here in about a month because he has to get it shipped here so as soon as he gets it I will up load pics and vids.
Damn. Find out the price. Ii wld kill for one lol jk. But isn't there a lot of taxes nd whatnot to have it here. As for all pricing nd get back to us lol
Seems like we should be able to order the rear disc brake components. Not crazy about the turbo diesel, but, as for the all wheel drive, we can dream..
I just talked to him earlier to day, I believe he said he paid about $28k for it. He's trying to expand his company to VWs and Toyotas so he went and got that. How ever he did tell me he's going to wait till next month to actually order it because he is currently working on a project car.
He's bringing it to the US? As far as I know, the 1.4 liter turbodiesel hasn't been EPA tested. How is he getting it into the country? Or is he in Europe?
SOLD: 2009 Scion xD - BRM, 16" alloys, VSC, K&N drop-in air filter, Thule Aero roof bars, TRD sway bar, TRD short shift, TYC LED tails, Curt class-1 tow hitch, Italian leather shift & brake boots, Red Line MT-90 in the trans, Amsoil 0w20 in the engine, ATE SuperBlue Racing brake fluid.
yea.. no EPA testing is going to make it extremely difficult.
I would like rear disc brakes.. but damn.. can't even get a hold of the badging (I have tried through family in Germany)
Now i have heard of cars being brought here.. but they are under extreme regulation and can't even really be driven unless they are identical to what's here already ><
I'd like to know more.. please keep posted
oh and while i'm thinking about it.. the Urban Cruiser doesn't fall under USDM crash test specs.. I'm really confused how he is getting one
again, I have no clue on how he is getting it here or whats the exact price he is paying. It might just be a shell. I dont get to talk to him very much, so I'm waiting on him to fill me in when he calls me. I will update as I get the info
lol, I know. I'm just as eager to see it. But he hasnt even ordered it yet. I did manage to get ahold of him after my last post and he said that he's having trouble getting it because of the EPA. So he's trying to see if he can get it as a demo car or something for his buisness.
We had heard that the 4 wheel drive function was only available at slow speeds or lower gears. Will look forward to hearing back from you once it's received.

You're thinking of the electronic diff lock.

I know people who have dealt with trying to import non-approved cars. It won't work.
One friend of mine bought just a turbodiesel VW engine (one that is not EPA approved) and the engine itself was tied up at the port forever... and he claimed that he was using it to build a generator, which would have been exempt. He was planning on using it in a car, though.

Hope he has good luck importing it! I always wanted to import a 1992 Escort Cosworth, and still is one of my life goals. I am going to wait until it's deemed a classic >25 years old to try to work on that.
We just returned from 2 weeks in Switzerland and saw several Urban Cruisers while there. It's amazing how different they look with the AWD. I also realized that they were actually one of the larger cars on the road there...lol
